OptiDrive™ Remote Power Systems Background

OptiDrive™ Remote Power Systems

Simplify Power, Improve Efficiency, and Enhance Reliability

OptiDrive™ is Thrive Agritech’s advanced remote power platform that delivers power to LED grow lights more efficiently, safely, and cost-effectively than traditional local driver systems. By relocating drivers outside the grow area, OptiDrive reduces heat above the canopy, lowers installation costs, and significantly improves system reliability.

Built for Commercial Scale

Engineered for 24/7 commercial operation

Each module designed for continuous use and rated for temperatures between -4°F and 104°F

5-year warranty paired with global safety and performance standards including UL, CE, and CSA certifications

Designed to meet GFCI requirements, ensuring safe operation in humid agricultural environments.

Available in two models

Both provide scalable, centralized power for large commercial operations in cannabis facilities, greenhouses, and vertical farms.

OptiDrive DC

For existing facilities when upgrading from HPS to LED

OptiDrive DE

Recommended for new construction

OptiDrive DC

The OptiDrive DC system delivers high-voltage DC power from a centralized rack to multiple grow rooms or greenhouse zones. It is the ideal choice for new construction and large-scale facilities that demand maximum efficiency and reliability.

Each shelf provides 12,000 watts of output through three 4,000-watt modules, operating at up to 95 percent efficiency.

OptiDrive DC supports 208 to 600 volt AC single or three-phase input and can be fully programmed using MODBUS or 0–10 volt control.

OptiDrive DE

The OptiDrive DE model distributes low-voltage power safely over standard cabling to individual fixtures. It is best suited for retrofit projects or facilities that need a simpler, more cost-effective electrical infrastructure.

Each transmitter module provides 3,000 watts of output with efficiency greater than 94 percent and includes seven output channels for flexible zone management.

The low-voltage design reduces installation time, eliminates conduit in many cases, and allows safe wiring throughout the grow space.

Lower Installation and Wiring Costs

Lower Installation and Wiring Costs

OptiDrive reduces the number of electrical components and wiring required, which lowers labor time and overall installation cost.

Improved Thermal Management

Improved Thermal Management

Moving drivers outside the growing space removes a major source of heat, reducing HVAC load and improving climate control for plants.

Greater Reliability and Uptime

Greater Reliability and Uptime

Fewer in-room drivers means fewer points of failure. Centralized power racks located in a clean, climate-controlled area extend component life and simplify maintenance.

Lightweight, Scalable Fixtures

Lightweight, Scalable Fixtures

Remote driver architecture allows Thrive Agritech fixtures to be smaller and lighter, which makes installation faster and reduces mechanical load on racks or ceilings.

Why Remote Power Matters

Traditional lighting systems use a separate driver for every fixture, which creates hundreds or even thousands of potential failure points. These local drivers also add heat to the growing area, increase installation complexity, and make maintenance difficult.

OptiDrive centralizes all drivers in a climate-controlled power room, improving lifespan, reducing downtime, and simplifying access for monitoring and maintenance. This approach also allows for lighter fixtures, lower-cost cabling, and fewer circuit breakers in the field, which reduces material and labor expenses.
